“They Threw Him Out” (John 9:34)

“You were born entirely in sin,’ they replied, ‘and are you trying to teach us?’ Then they threw him out.” vs34

It’s going to cost us everything to believe on the Lord Jesus and follow Him. They are going to cast you out, but God is going to give you a mouth and wisdom that no man can prevail against.

It costs us, but we gain! We lose family, friends, and the security of false religion, but we gain everlasting life and our Lord Jesus, who told the man similarly persecuted in John 5:14, “See, you are well. Do not sin anymore, so that something worse doesn’t happen to you.” We can’t go back, or we lose what we have gained: We can’t return to false religion, to lies, and to compromise; we must go forward in the gospel.

Repent if you haven’t stood strong. You have a commission from God to be faithful, and we cannot hold back in word or deed because of the cares of this world, but we must give it all up and follow Him! It doesn’t matter that Mom and Dad won’t go with us (John 9:22). Let them perish, if they must, but we must go forward into the Heavenly City.

Do not fear man but God: He is your Savior and the One to trust. He is the One that helps you now, and you’ll have no peace or power without the Lord Jesus being faithfully adhered to. Hear His call in Joel 2:13, “Tear your hearts, not just your clothes, and return to the LORD your God. For He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, rich in faithful love, and He relents from sending disaster.”

Do not fear: He will receive you, but we can’t continue in compromise.

Jesus always stands with those who stand with Him. “When Jesus heard that they had thrown the man out, He found him and asked, ‘Do you believe in the Son of Man? ‘Who is He, Sir, that I may believe in Him? He asked. Jesus answered, ‘You have seen Him; in fact, He is the One speaking to you (John 9:35-37).” He got more insight and more light by his sacrifice, and so will you, as God will be near to your heart in joy and peace. You’ll lose the world but gain unsearchable riches. You’ll never live to regret trusting Christ, if you trust Him continually.

False religion is mean: it doesn’t care about evidence but tradition, and it holds onto God’s word deceptively, believing a lie while quoting Scripture. The Jews cast this man out because he was healed on the Sabbath, which violated their religion, but not Moses whom they quoted (Leb 16:30-33).

Now, we are cast out and considered divisive fools because we stick to Scripture Alone, acknowledging that all tongues have ceased, and the babbling of today is not the clearly understood languages of Acts 2. Now, we are hated for justification by faith, but Paul preached it and said anything else is a false gospel. Election and predestination are ridiculed, but they are nothing more than terms of grace – that God did everything. Do not fear and stick to your guns. You’ll find Christ and other believers.

Brethren, the time is now to make a choice: Will you go on with the religion of the world, or will you give yourself wholeheartedly and unreservedly to Him who opened your eyes?
